Carbide insert regrinding FAQs

Can all carbide inserts be reground?

No. Suitability depends on the insert style, coating, damage and remaining material. Coated inserts lose their coating when reground, and some molded chipbreaker geometries cannot be restored. We inspect inserts before confirming work.

How many times can an insert be reground?

There is no fixed number. It depends on the insert geometry, how much material remains and its condition after each use. We assess each insert and do not promise a set number of regrinds.

Will a reground insert last as long as a new insert?

Tool life varies with the insert, material being machined, cutting conditions and the remaining geometry. We cannot guarantee that a reground insert will match the life of a new one.

How long does insert regrinding take?

Turnaround depends on the insert type, quantity and current workload. We confirm an expected schedule after inspecting the tools and discussing the required work.

Is there a minimum quantity?

Share the quantity with us when requesting a quote. We will confirm the minimum, feasibility and pricing for your specific insert type before you send the tools.

How do I send inserts by courier?

Contact us first with clear photos, the insert type, grade and quantity. Once we discuss suitability, pack the inserts securely and courier them to the workshop address shown on this page. Include your name, phone number and return address inside the parcel.
